Ryan Ward's debut feature film, Son of the Sunshine, was nominated by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television for a 2012 Genie Award (Canadian Oscar) for Best Original Screenplay. The movie premiered as one of Indiewire’s 'Top 5 Films to Watch' at Slamdance Film Festival and screened at over 30 festivals, winning a total of 13 awards. In 2016, Ryan wrote and directed In the Beginning was Water and Sky, a short Native American fantasy film supported by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. He also wrote and directed AmeriKa, one of six movies in the USA selected to screen at the prestigious 41st Annual 2017 International INPUT Television Conference in Thessaloniki, Greece, and the Audience Award Winner at Riverside International Film Festival. Ryan is currently developing two new feature films in Los Angeles.
