Deporting Myself is Julia Neumann’s first documentary short film and it also marks her debut as a writer/director.
Originally from Austria, she studied Journalism in Vienna and copywriting at Miami Ad School in Hamburg. Julia came to the U.S. to kick off her career in advertising and is currently an Executive Creative Director at TBWA\Chiat\Day in New York. Her work in the commercial world has been recognized by every major international industry award show and she was included in Business Insider’s annual list of most creative women in 2013, 2014 and 2016.
As a writer by trade and an inquisitive storyteller by nature, Julia is now applying her passion for social justice to films she creates outside of advertising.
