Alexa Coblent
A self taught filmmaker, Alexa Coblentz, studied Theater and Philosophy at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. Upon returning to her hometown of Los Angeles, Alexa jumped into film and video production. Standout experiences range from line producing international viral campaigns for Smart Car to co-producing “Joshua Tree: 1951,” an acclaimed 35mm film about young James Dean. She wrote and directed the lyrical and personal short film, “MOM” which premiered at LA SHORTS FEST and led to her European premiere at the Salento International Film Festival. Alexa was so taken by the region that she decided to set a feature adaptation of “Blue Water Djinn” by New York Times best selling author Tea Obreht, in Salento. This adaptation will mark Alexa's feature directorial debut, with plans to roll camera in Southern Italy in late spring of 2017.
